John Conner is not the soldier and the leader that his mother assured him that he would be. The machines are taking the fight right to the Resistance and they are winning.
Hope and salvation seem to be just words of the past, long forgotten and irrelevant. The machines don't need water or food or sleep. They have just one objective: eliminate mankind. Humans, on the other hand, experience pain; both physical and emotional.
The action takes place in the ruins of what once used to be a magnificent city, Los Angeles. The year is 2016. A massive assault is launched against the machines, but something went wrong. The machines repelled the attack and turned a defensive into an offensive. The handful of surviving soldiers have to evacuate as soon as possible. John Connor is one of the few surviving soldiers and as him and his fellow brothers in arms fight their way to the evac point, a distress message comes from a fellow Resistance soldier trapped deep behind enemy lines. John has to make a choice. He can either disobey a direct order and head for the trapped soldiers, or he can turn his head, get on that chopper and abandon his colleagues to what will surely be their deaths. Everyone keeps telling John that it is impossible to save the others; death is imminent and any attempt to rescue the members trapped behind the enemy line will be nothing more than a suicide mission. Either John is tired of fighting and lost all hope, or he is about to start becoming what his mother always told him that he would be: a great soldier and leader. Can John Connor fulfill what the machines are afraid of? It is up to you to find out the answer to that question.
