There are quite a few video games that allow us to ride motorcycles with the most famous one probably being the expansion pack to Grand Theft Auto IV, The Lost and Damned where you're a member of a biker gang.

However, while riding a motorcycle in Grand Theft Auto or Wheelman or Saints Row II or even in Midnight Club LA Remix might be entertaining and fun, those games bring out the arcade riding style of motorcycles; the bikes are not handling very realistically. Despite the fact that all those games do actually entertain me, I felt that it is my obligation as a game reviewer to see for myself what a pure motorcycle games brings to the table, thus I ventured out and I purchased SBK Superbike World Championship.

I have to admit that I'm not very familiar with Conspiracy Entertainment but I have to at least give them credit for only charging 29.99 dollars for an actual Xbox360 game (that's usually half of what most Xbox games go for); my guess is that they realized that the crotch rocket bike racing scene is not for everyone. Now, while I respect the fact that this game sells for a bargain price, my paranoia is kicking in and now I'm starting to wonder if the price is an act of kindness or if it is that low because the game is buggy and unplayable. I'm also supposed to not judge a book by its cover (in this case a video game) but I got to say that the box art on the back of the SBK Superbike World Championship box looks impressive. Right now I can't tell if the pictures are game pictures or actual racing footage because that's how good the bikes and riders look on the back of the box. But before I speculate about the graphics I better go spend a few hours in front of my Xbox, so, as Arnold Schwarzenegger would say: "I'll be back."
