If you have been following Gamepyre.com and/or my reviews you probably know by now that I absolutely love racing games.
All racing games are fun to me, although in all honesty I'm not as impressed with the Formula 1 racing or with motorcycle racing because those vehicles are usually not very customizable from both a visual and a performance perspective.
Thus, when I saw THQ's Baja - Edge of Control on Blockbuster's shelves I picked it up without hesitation. As I was examining the box I noticed that Baja - Edge of Control was made by the makers of MX vs. ATV - a game that I was very impressed with so I knew that it was a definite rental. Blockbuster had a special of 2 Xbox games for $15 so I also picked up the latest Sonic game (but that will be examined in its own review).
As for this game, I'm very excited and very curious about it. The game claims that there are over 100 cars to race and over 1000 miles of open road to race on. That sounds almost too good to be true but for some reason I believe what THQ claims; maybe I'm just too naive or just too much of a racing enthusiast. Either or, I have a feeling that for the next few days all I'm going to hear is going to be the sound of engines, splattering dirt and mud and probably quite a few collisions (especially early in the game while I'm getting used with the game's controls). But enough of my blabbering and excitement early in the review. If this game is what it claims to be I will be just as excited or even more excited in my conclusion. So let's find out together what this game is all about.
