Last year I was still in Dallas when Tiger Woods 09 was released.
When I went to the store I was actually looking for two other games that were released that exact same day: Need for Speed - Pro Street as well as Sim City Societies.
Well, as I was in the store for no more then ten minutes, I witnessed two men, all dressed up in business suits and probably on their lunch break, asking if there were any more copies of the Tiger Woods 09 golfing game.
Ninety nine percent of the time, when I visit a gaming store, I'm actually there on business. As business pointed out, Tiger Woods 09 was something that as a reviewer I had to take a look at. So, that day, I ended up with 3 games: NFS Pro-Street, Sim City Societies and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09.
At that time I did not know anything about golf. Since that game came out I have actually started golfing. When I say golfing, I don't really mean it. I don't practice every day, I hardly spend time in front of the TV watching the tournaments, and although I was given a set of clubs, I didn't even bother to read who the manufacturer is. So far, golfing to me means going to the driving range.
I still don't have the balls to try my skills on a 9 hole course, especially a 18 whole challenge. But the driving range is my friend. I don't want to brag, but I've even hit a few 250 yard drives (and the balls went straight). At one point I was into body building, so, as you can imagine, I thought that pure power was the key to a good drive. Man, was I wrong. Baseball swings don't work, pure anger and violence fails even worse and despair feels like a pillow over your face. But I was hooked. I don't know if my bag holds the 14 clubs accepted in the PGA Tour (so far I've only used 3), but the desire was and still is there. So, now, a year later, I don't look at Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 as just another game; I look at it as motivation for my future. But, many times, motivation and ethics are pure opposites. Thus, now, I'm faced with a great dilemma. How will Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 help me? Is it a replica of last year's game with just a few changes? Look at the Madden games! They've sucked ass ever since EA bought the exclusive rights to the NFL. Did Tiger sell out for a quick buck or is this year's release the best golf game up to date? All you have to do to find out is just keep on reading.
