MLB 09 The Show is a very solid baseball game. But is it worth the 40 bucks that stores charge for it?

Yes and no. If you just got a PSP and you want to start building your game collection, assuming that you enjoy baseball, this would be a perfect game to get. The graphics are great (for the most part), the sound is great and there are many game modes for anyone to enjoy.

Also, if you partake in many multiplayer games you may want to use the very latest in baseball technology. On the other hand, if you already have last year's release and if all you do is focus on the single player aspect of the game, you may want to save 40 dollars. There are some new features and a few changes to the 09 version, but at the same time I don't think that the game is sooooo different from the 08 version that upgrading is a necessity. One final thing that I want to emphasize on is the fact that MLB 09 The Show, just like its predecessor, has very long loading times. Waiting a minute to load may not be so bad if you're playing a full game, but if you're in career mode and the coach allocates you just a few pitches or bat swings, waiting a minute for the game to load so you can play 2 to 3 minutes of baseball may not be worth it. I'm personally keeping the 08 version especially that I got Major League Baseball 2K9 for my PC. Since my computer flies, the load times for it are just a few seconds and in my case, time really is money.
