MLB 08 The Show was by far the best baseball game that I've had the pleasure of ever playing but even a game that I considered to be great still had some problems that I truly hope have been solved a year later.

I still have MLB 08 The Show in my personal games collection and I still play it occasionally. The reason that I only play it occasionally and not on a regular basis is entirely due to the loading times. If you thought that 20 or 30 seconds worth of load times are a drag in the PSP community then you must have never seen MLB 08 The Show; some of the loading times can take over a full minute.

One thing that I'm one hundred percent certain about is the fact that MLB 09 The Show will have up to date rosters. Besides that, this new baseball game is a complete mystery to me but it is a mystery that I will solve by the end of this review. Will MLB 09 The Show have any new distinguishable features from its last year predecessor? Will the graphics be fresh and improved from last year? Is the sound a solid hit or did the sound team strike out? We can spend hours speculating and asking questions about this new baseball game and while each question deserves consideration and an answer, the most important question is whether or not upgrading from the 08 to the 09 version of the game is actually worth it. Just like all of you, that is the question that I'm most concerned with. Do I keep my 08 version of the game and return the 09 rental back or do click the "purchase now" option on my Gamefly account and keep MLB 09 The Show and eventually trade out the 08 version of the game? Either or, I don't see the Texas Rangers winning the series anytime soon; I miss Nolan Ryan's pitching but at least I still have his rookie year baseball card.
