Yarrrr! So you want to be a pirate? According to some friends and backed a few websites, International Talk Like a Pirate Day is September 19.
But if you are like me and have played Age of Pirates Caribbean Tales then you know that Playlogic gave us the ability to be a pirate at any time we played the game. I liked Caribbean Tales a lot. The game was tough and saving often really paid off, but with some luck, skill and a sea-worthy crew, the game was full of action on both land and sea.
A couple of months ago, when I noticed the release of Age of Pirates 2 - City of Abandoned Ships, I decided to stop playing Age of Pirates - Caribbean Tales; I did not want to burn out on the genre. Well, after a couple weeks of being delayed, Playlogic finally released City of Abandoned Ships and I got myself a copy. To me this is not just a random review, but a much anticipated one. Caribbean Tales was a beautiful game backed up by an innovative concept. I can't wait to see what the sequel gets to unleash. The P.I.R.A.T.E.S. system is something that Playlogic advertises as new; and as of right now, I can't tell if it is clever or just a desperate move. Either or, I wonder how long I can last in my game before I turn to pirating; In Caribbean Tales I can usually make it around three hours before I get frustrated for lack of gold and start turning to a life of crime. Ahoy Mateys; my one-eyed navigator says we're in for one stormy night. I shall retire to the captain's cabin and finish up this log. |
