Two days ago I finally arrived to Florida (my move was delayed for almost a month). Since it was almost 10 P.M. when I arrived I decided to get a good night's rest that night and start reviewing the next day.

After driving for hours, bouncing between Targets and Wall Marts, I finally stumbled across a Best Buy. Let's just say that in my excitement and fear of not finding it again, I walked out of there with three new games to review, one of them being Dead Space. With Halloween just around the corner Dead Space's timing was perfect. With Halloween spirits running high people finally can turn to video game horror entertainment instead of watching the same reruns of Nightmare on Elm Street and of course, the legendary Halloween series.

And there's nothing wrong with all the classic horror reruns or the new cheep remakes of them, but if you're like me (a gamer), there's a good chance that your hand (with a mind of its own) will reach for a horror game instead of a movie. EA does a great job of naming their games; a great name gets people to look at the box, and with the cool pictures and description on the back of the box, Dead Space looks great. But as the saying goes, "You can't judge a book by its cover." Don't get me wrong, on the cover Dead Space looks great, but my job goes much deeper than just examining the game's box-art. By the time I'm done with Dead Space I should be able to let you guys know if this game is truly a great tile or if it is just a product of great marketing and timing (with the game being released before Halloween). Unfortunately, as much as I want to load up the game and take a peek at what EA has delivered in this space horror thriller shooter title, but I promised myself that I would wait until dark. I think the magic behind either horror flicks or horror games is to play them at night; with the lights off, and my headset turned up really loud. If under those settings the game does not make me jump, well, lets just wait and see what happens…
