Recently I moved from Texas to Florida. When I left Texas I had my back seats lowered and the entire car was packed from top to bottom. One thing that I could not get in there for the life of me was my Logitech MOMO Force Feedback racing wheel.
I did not abandon the wheel; what I did was get my old roommate to box it up and ship it to me. Well, he did. Unfortunately, either the address was written incorrectly or the friendly and hard-working people at UPS weren't that hard-working after all because my package never made it to me. Since racing is probably my overall favorite genre when it comes to PC games, I did what any racing enthusiast would do and started looking for a new wheel.
As you probably noticed by the title of this review, I'm actually reviewing my Logitech MOMO Force Feedback racing wheel. Not the one lost in the mail; I have no clue what happened to that one. I actually re-bought the exact same wheel once again because it was just that good. I did spend some time looking up new products on the net, but out of both fear of not finding a comparable product, I decided to go with a sure thing: the MOMO. I've had my old MOMO for a bit over four years before it was lost. During that time I went through three computers and that was part of the deciding factor. If this one Logitech product can outlast three computers, well, I know I've found a treasure. The other deciding factor was Logitech itself. If you go to the Logitech website and search for wheels, what your search will show you is that Logitech has two wheels that they are officially selling from their website. The first one is the G25 Racing Wheel; it is priced at $299 and it definitely has some decent components attached to it. Unfortunately, it is just too costly for my blood. The other PC wheel that Logitech sells on their website is the MOMO Racing Force Feedback Wheel. Seeing that after all these years the MOMO is still this popular was the true decisive factor. Since now I'm allowed to write hardware reviews for Gamepyre.com, I feel obligated to write about this racing wheel. If you're a racing enthusiast and are thinking about acquiring a racing wheel please keep on reading this review. |
