Work is work, so when my boss called me and asked me to review Sins of a Solar Empire I accepted the offer without hesitation.

What I did not realize at that time was that Sins of a Solar Empire is a Stardock release. Stardock just happens to be one of my favorite companies because of their Galactic Civilization series; Galactic Civilizations is a 4X turn-based strategy game that takes place in space.

Unlike Galactic Civilizations, Sins of a Solar Empire is an RTS (real-time-strategy) game. Lately, there has been an overabundance of bad RTS games being released (at least in this reviewer's opinion), so the question is whether Stardock was able to create a new RTS worth playing. One thing is certain, I was very excited about this game for several reasons such as the fact that I like Sci-Fi and also because Stardock is not a company that I associate with bad products. But that's enough about me blabbering on about Stardock and Galactic Civilizations. Now that the game is installed, it's time to just put it to the test and see how well it competes in the RTS genre.
