There are not many times when I have a bad opinion about a game before I have a chance to try it out, but the salesman's comment at the video game store did manage to make me question the game just a bit but at the same time I want to play it even more.

To quote the salesman "Are you sure you want to buy this? This game sucks." I try to go into each new review with an open mind and with no formed opinions but that was a harsh comment to say about a game. Is the game really that terrible? My guess would be yes and no. True fans of mythology will probably be disappointed by the game considering that it is almost impossible for video games to stay true to a story. I guess you could make a video game to accurately follow a story, but at the same time that will probably be the most boring game ever.

The question that we must ask is if Rise of the Argonauts has what it takes to draw in the RPG crowd. Hardcore RPG players are very peculiar about their games and RPGs that did not allow for character creation and deep character customization have not been very successful. Since I haven't played Rise of the Argonauts yet I'm not quite sure how customizable the characters are, but the one thing that I know is that you get to play as Jason only and there is no multiplayer to the game. Codemasters must be very confident in their single player story as for me, I'm going to jump in Jason's shoes and see if I can find myself that mysterious golden fleece.
