Nero CD/DVD speed
I decided to use the standard Motherboards.org test system to test drive speeds.
As the two drives being tested are similar except for the speeds and dual layer
capabilities, I tested with Nero’s CD/DVD speed utility. Unfortunately,
the disc I have isn’t capable of 16X write speed. It’ll be an interesting
experience. I do have 8X media, Asus states the drive can overwrite at 16X
speed with 8X media, but I wasn’t able to verify it with the media I
have on-hand.
