The P35 chipset has become the major standard for the mainstream/performance Intel chipset market with various motherboards from every manufacturer on the planet. Intel has done an excellent job with their P35 chipset and it supports virtually every feature on the market with the exception of 1600MHz FSB CPUs and PCI Express 2.0 bandwidth, both of which are new to the market with the X38 chipset from Intel. The P5K Deluxe Wi-Fi AP Edition board is an excellent example of the P35 chipset with enough features to suit the enthusiast and enough expansion room to grow for even the hardest core enthusiast.
Asus motherboards generally find their way into my home computer and those of the other writers on Gamepyre.com. The P5K Deluxe Wi-Fi AP Edition board is full of features that you want from a new motherboard and loaded with the extra overclocking tools that the enthusiast wants. Wi-Fi AP is an interesting concept that works, but could work better with higher connect speeds. Performance wise this board could be better but otherwise another fine board from Asus, which will surely find its way into many systems around the world. Overall this is a solid board not quite on my Gold Medal list, but no slouch that is for certain. I am just into the DDR3 version much more.
