The whole EHD3-100 Dual Hybrid TV Card does a good job of capturing TV programs in a high quality format. It supports conversion to AVI as well as mpeg formats. Depending on what you plan to do with the media, the setting for mode of capture is up to you. Choose your format and get going. The EHD3-100 Dual Hybrid TV Card is simple to record with. On the bottom of screen is a red record button. Press it to record and press the stop button to stop recording.
As stated prior, the consumer can set the program to record a certain program or even record for a certain amount of time. The quality of video is pretty impressive, with the S-Video getting the nod from this reviewer as the better input. This is due mainly to my cable company not allowing certain channels to be displayed properly as they “have to charge you for setting up a digital box". Anyway, the recorded digital signal is a good quality but the cable box DVR to RG6 input video quality is lower then straight from the wall jack video. This is not the EHD3-100 Dual Hybrid TV Card’s fault, but more of a signal issue from the cable box.
Choosing to capture with S-Video yielded a higher quality capture as should be expected. The hardest thing to capturing was setting up the audio in a simple manner as the cable box only had a SPDIF output or component output. So with a y splitter to two component inputs I was able to use the digital connection for audio. The audio quality is very good to almost great. I could even pull the audio off the video file with another program to make high quality mp3 files. Please check into copyright law in your location prior to capturing video or audio as it may be illegal to capture certain content.
After success with setting up standard video capturing, I was interested to see how the unit would perform with gaming. I hooked up the trusty Xbox 360 thru the component connection, fired it up and presto up and loading game. The video quality for capture was great as well as the audio and photo screenshots. The only issue with this connection was a 3 second delay in what was displayed as to where the game was actually at. This made playing games impossible. The EHD3-100 Dual Hybrid TV Card does have good quality but there seems to be a slight delay in when something appears on screen. |
