I used and abused this D-Link Xtreme N Gigabit Wireless Router for a little over six weeks before I felt confident about writing this review.
And I have to say that I'm pleasantly surprised and very happy with this product. I live in Florida, and, in the last few weeks we've had some terrible storms (at least there were no hurricanes) and I have to say that the only time when the router went down since I've had it was only when the power flickered and went out.
As soon as the electricity came back on so did the router (I really should have plugged it in the battery-powered surge protector). Once the power came back on, I did not have to reconfigure the router; the settings remained saved and the Internet connection worked flawlessly time and time again. As a matter of fact, the only time that I've had to reset and reboot the D-Link Xtreme N Gigabit Wireless Router has been when I manually altered the settings myself in order to make some games work. This really is a great, great product. But I also have to give credit to Comcast; even with the recent storms, the connection hasn't failed and as we all know, even the best router in the world can't help you if your Internet provider fails. If you spend a lot of time on the Net, the D-Link Xtreme N Gigabit Wireless Router is a great product. Depending on where you shop, the router is a bit over 100 dollars, but it is worth every single penny.
