The way a mouse feels in your hand is a very important aspect of how satisfied you will be using any said product, and the mouse of the LX710 does feel comfortable in my hand, and the buttons are set in a way that makes them easy to access. The mouse is designed with a curve for you to fold your hand around and to be ergonomic while you use it. There are a total of five useable and programmable buttons on the LX710s mouse, which can be custom configured in most game titles sold today for whatever your particular preference is. This can be a handy feature in many FPS, RTS and RPG games that require quick responses and switching items and or weapons or armor. The center mouse button offers the Tilt Wheel plus Zoom feature. This allows the center button to swivel from side to side and allows you to browse through your pictures and your spreadsheets in Excell.

If you like keyboards with many control buttons for multimedia and quick launch options the LX710 has just enough to satisfy most users, be it gamer or multimedia junkie. The keys have a decent, but very mechanical feel to them and that is okay for gaming, but not really what a writer looks for in a keyboard he types on all day. The keys at least are not bunched up right against each other like a laptop and that is a good thing, especially for those of you with big fingers, like me, as they are easier to type on without hitting the wrong keys. The thing is the keys do feel like you are hitting plastic and that is a drawback in my humble opinion as it just does not have that soft-touch feelings of many other enthusiasts based keyboards. To me my trusty Saitek Eclipse II is one of the best keyboards as far as typing and comfort go.

There are quite a few quick-launch keys, for launching Media player, checking your mail, adjusting your volume control. These keys can also be auto-configured by holding down the key you want to change functions and then choose what you would like it to do. In order to do this you must first install the software that comes with the LX710 as it adds additional functionality and control over the the LX710. The LX710 comes with an extended USB connector for you to plug in the USB receiver on your desktop to insure proper connectivity. Having the ability to custom make your own HotKeys is a pretty damn cool feature as it allows you to just hit a key and have it auto-launch the application of your choice. Depending on your preference while using the keyboard as a desktop replacement, you can adjust the way the keyboard sits. The keyboard can either be laid flat or in two different tilted positions by using the taps located on the back of the LX710 keyboard. You will also need to load batteries into the back of the LX-710s and mouse for them to have power. These batteries are however included in the retail boxed version of he product.
