The 3870 is a great gaming card. Today’s hottest looking game; Crysis plays well on the 3870 with consistent frame rates above 20 at 1680x1050 with this card and the E6750 we use for motherboard and video card testing in DirectX 10 mode. While many gamers will want higher frame rates, the 3870 can play this game with all of the visual features turned on. In Crossfire mode the game played with a higher average frame rate throughout.

NeverWinter Nights 2 is the included bundled game for the GIGABYTE HD3870 card. The game uses a lot of set piece battles that are not very demanding as a First Person Shooter would be. Never Winter Nights 2 played extremely well on the HD3870 as the game played without performance issues up to the maximum 1680x1050 resolution that my monitor can display. NWN2 is still a great bundled game as it is recently released. Unreal Tournament 3 is the latest in a long line of online multiplayer First Person Shooters (FPS) from Epic Games. UT3 saw improved visuals, using the Unreal 3 engine. A single 3870 is capable of playing this game smoothly at 1680x1050 resolutions; two bring up the average framerates to above 80 fps at the same resolution, a 25%+ increase.
