NVIDIA was founded in 1993 by Jen-Hsun Huang, Chris Malachowski and a small group of ex-SGI employees. Today, NVIDIA is the last remaining standalone video chip manufacturer for all intents and purposes. Companies like S3, Via and Matrox make up less than 10% of the discrete market.

ASUS is the number one motherboard manufacturer in the world, with  over a third of the motherboards sold last year made by ASUS. ASUS manufactures other computer components, including an award-winning series of video cards based upon NVIDIA and ATI chipsets, mini-systems, DVD drives, and more.
