One of the most visually compelling games of 2006 is Bethsheda Softworks’ Oblivion game. Sporting wonderful graphics in every portion of the game except for the faces of the characters, Oblivion is an excellent game I have put over 100 hours into already and am still not finished. The 7300GT struggles a bit with this game, with 800x600 mostly playable with HDR enabled.

ID Software is the creator of the FPS (First Person Shooter) genre. Games like Doom, Quake, and many others were inspired by their first game, Return to Castle Wolfenstein 3D. John Carmack is one of the greatest game creators in existence. Quake 4 was released in 2004 and is a good OpenGL game. I was able to run Quake 4 at the resolution of 1280x1024 with no AA and no AF enabled on the 7300GT with no issues.

Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter is the latest game in the “Ryanverse”. For those that don’t know Tom Clancy, he’s a very famous military and political fiction writer. Jack Ryan, the star of his books went from being a CIA analyst to the very top of the power base in the country. GRAW plays ok on the 7300GT, with full features. I would suggest the lower resolutions in the game on the 7300GT.
