Far Cry 2 is the latest game from the makers of the original Far Cry, Ubisoft. The new game has been updated to support DirectX 10.0 as the original game was one of the first games to support Direct X 9.0C. Recent game launches like that for Far Cry 2 and Crysis Warhead require the installation of Direct X10 and hardware to match to run comfortably. The MSI card played Far Cry wonderfully, with frame rates in the 40s throughout at 1680x1050 4x AA 16x AF.

Stalker Clear Sky is the latest game from the makers of Stalker. The game is a prelude to Stalker Shadows of Chernobyl. The game was released a short while ago to great reception. The game updates the graphics engine to DirectX 10. DirectX 10 games tend to run very slow on all but the best latest hardware. The MSI HD 4870 1GB card played this game in the high 20s frame rates at 1920x1200 with dynamic lighting.

Crysis the original game was a bit of a system hog, and even the most powerful video card of today two CrossFireX HD 4870 X2 has trouble with the very highest resolutions and settings (2560X1600 8X AA 16X AF). The MSI HD 4870 1GB card ran this game without problems up to 1680x1050 with frame rates in the 30s throughout the first half hour of the game. Turning on AA and AF made this game practically unplayable as the frame rates dipped to unplayable levels when the resolution was turned up.
