The 9800GTX+ is a slightly overclocked 9800GTX card and should perform as such in games. Crysis is the hardest game on computer hardware at the moment as it brings everything but the most high-end card to its knees. The 9800GTX+ is able to play this game quite comfortably at 1280x1024 resolution with frame rates in the 20s throughout. Two 9800GTX cards can play this game comfortably at 1680x1050 with High settings enabled.

The second game I took for a spin on the 9800GTX+ card was Legend: Hand of God. This game is a fantasy game set in a fictional world where magic and sword fighting are the norm. The 9800GTX+ hardly broke a sweat with this game as it doesn’t use DX10 effects. Two 9800GTX+ cards was able to play this game at 1920x1200 with 4x AA and 16x AF.

The third game I played on the two setups was the game Warmonger. This game is included free in the GeForce Power Pack that includes PhysX demos and games to show off the PhysX effects that the 9800GTX is capable of. Warmonger is fully playable on two 9800GTX+ in SLI mode, with framerates above 40 throughout even at 1920x1200 resolution and 4x AA 16x AF. Single card mode lowers the playable resolution to 1680x1050 without AA and AF. This game really shows off PhysX effects including bullet holes in walls you shoot, realistically behaving snow and more. The Unreal Tournament PhysX Mod pack is a series of maps that have more advanced physics effects due to the PhysX software in them. Unreal 3 Engine allows the use of PhysX software to have destructible walls floors, and a Tornado that destroys the battlefield as the players play. The 9800GTX+ plays these levels at playable framerates up to 1280x1024. Two 9800GTX+s in SLI play these levels up to a 1600x1200 resolution.
