Performance of the Gigabyte 9600GT Turbo Force 1GB card should not be compared with the highest end cards the 4870X2 or GTX280 cards as they are literally in different price leagues of $499 or so. The problem for buying this card today is that it is competing with GeForce 9800GTX+ cards on the NVIDIA side and HD 4850 cards on the ATI side which offer higher performance across the board, for the same price point.
