The driver, once downloaded, was installed without a hitch as expected or a least hoped for in all PC peripherals. The training software discussed earlier is a great tool to familiarize you with the functionality of this mouse. Using the preset for Google Earth is a good idea as many of us are familiar with this program and it provides a little entertainment while you endure the learning process.
The 3D Game O’ does take some getting used to. Prepare to be patient with this mouse as the button configuration is a bit unusual and you will need time to adjust. I found that the 3D button on the top of the mouse was where the scroll wheel usually is. This was a bit odd as I had to compensate for the location change when using the scroll wheel. But with a few dedicated gaming sessions the feel of this mouse became very natural.

General usage was as effortless as expected. With the help of the Avago 6010 laser sensors built into the mouse you will notice the handling is extremely smooth. Majority of the users will want to use either the 400dpi or more likely the 800dpi settings for general usage. This is easy to change as all that is needed is to push the number 4 and 5 buttons simultaneously. You will then get an audible message in the form of a soothing female voice of your current dpi setting.
You will notice this mouse offers a distinct advantage when gaming. As we covered before the 3D buttons can be used much like a D pad on game controllers. This means each 3D button can actually be programmed like four individual buttons, each button having a different function. This makes the mouse essentially a 16 button programmable gaming device, forged with gaming in mind. Now I will be the first to admit, perhaps 16 buttons is an overkill but it does give you the opportunity to find which buttons you find most comfortable and natural to use, then program them accordingly.
Your FPS games with certainly benefit with on the fly adjustable dpi settings. A good example of this resourcefulness is Battlefield 2142. Many players that normally use a 400dpi or 800dpi style mouse usually find the Rosch Mk-S8 (stationary anti-armor weapon) too slow to manipulate to make it a useful weapon. Now with the 3D Game O’ you can cycle to 2000dpi and make it is as responsive as any other handheld weapon. You can also use this mouse to help navigate an aircraft in many flight simulators as the 3d buttons can be programmed to control yaw and pitch, however most people that play flight simulators religiously will have already spent the money on a joystick configuration.
