Well, what can we say? Much like quite a few reviewers out there, we spent many a minute staring at the box in trepidation, thinking “I can’t believe I’m doing this”. Yet, as the Bat was wrestled free of its cave, the impression of frost quickly melted. The smoothly painted panels, matched with very, very high quality construction won over any doubts. Now, while the hard drive situation may have raised some eyebrows (and blood pressure rates, among other things), it wasn’t enough to distract us from the optical drive twist-locks, as well as the push down PCI retention plate – both of which actually work. The final straw towards liking this came when it was powered up – I’d smack myself at first for admitting it, but this case looked freaking sweet with the power on. The buttons up top glowed with fury, the eyes shone out and gave the case a little bit of shine without being blinding, and the rugged construction keeps everything where it should be. Overall, if you’re in the market for a decent pre-mod case, the Bat is a good solid bet, that is, if you can stomach that grin from your delivery man.
