ASUS is one name in the PC industry we all know and trust as they are one of the first major players in the game to emerge as a stand alone manufacture of computer parts. They have grown to be also be the number one name in this industry as well, and have proven themselves to not only be a staple name brand, but also innovators in this field often having more features on their products than the competition. Every system I have built an extreme overclocking system on in the last few years has had an ASUS board in it as they make boards geared for the enthusiast. They have helped pioneer overclocking with their enhanced BIOS options that allow excellent headroom for tweaking the CPUs performance potential well past its standard core clock and voltage settings.

Motherboards are what made ASUS famous, but they have stretched their wings into a vast array of the PC market, including laptops, LCD panels, DVD drives, VGA cards and networking gear just to name a few different varieties. I have seen many a VGA card and a mass amount of motherboards from these folks, but not too many monitors come our way being a site with a moniker of motherboards.org. In this case we needed two more test monitors for another work station area we needed so I got us an ASUS 17" and a 22" and decided that I might as well kill multiple targets with one projectile and review them as well as use them. So, here we are. Newegg like always delivered these new monitors in a quick two-day fashion, and in that light I continue to pour over my money to them when I need hardware outside the review chain. Today we take a look at the ASUS PM17, a sleek black 17" LCD panel that has many nice features and has killer looks to boot!
