While they graphics may not be groundbreaking, they get the job done. You won't notice a whole lot of difference between this and Project 8 however.

There are quite a few options when you go into Create a Skater. As I mentioned earlier, there is no female character model that the player can choose to play as. While not a huge deal, it seems like an odd choice the developers made.

You are able to customize everything about your character, from what he wears to how he skates. There is even the ability to customize some of the tricks for your liking.

There are far better lighting and reflection effects than have been seen in Tony Hawk games on previous consoles. The Xbox360 makes the game look good even when you get traveling fast in a crazy trick.

The animations on the skating look pretty cool, though pretty much the same as they have throughout the other games. There may not be a lot of new here, but there's no real need to change what works.

When you go into Nail the Trick mode, the screen will blur a little, and the colors will change. As long as the screen stays looking like this, you have full control of your board. As soon as you let go the screen will return to normal though.

When you wipe out, rather than a pre-made animation, which isn't at all convincing, they use rag doll physics. Rag Doll Physics is when the character just goes completely limp and flails around. This ends up looking better most of the time.

Occasionally, this isn't the case. Your skater will do some crazy things. You'll find yourself flying through walls, and getting stuck half-buried in the ground. This doesn't effect gameplay any, but makes for a good laugh.

All the voices are done by the actual skaters. This adds a good amount to the game, although many of them are clearly not voice actors. Some of them do alright, but quite a few just sound like they are just reading off a script they've never seen before.

As with all the major Tony Hawk games so far, the soundtrack is stuffed full of licensed artists. Lacking, however, is the means to play your own mp3s off the Xbox 360 hard drive. In a game that allows me to listen to other artists, I would like to listen to some of my own choosing. More often than not I find myself turning off the in game music and putting on my own music anyway.
