There are only a handful of game developers in this world that make great Role-Playing Games. (RPGs) Out of that small group only two or three have the guts to make a truly original RPG. With new play mechanics, fresh story and innovative graphics. It seems like every month we are delivered a bland colorless RPG that is full of dull game-play, clich‚d characters, and mind numbing stories. Tri-Crescendo is a game maker that has a track record of quality and creativity. This company has given us timeless games like Valkyrie Profile, Baten Kaitos, and Radiata Stories. Throughout the years they have been unafraid of trying new ideas and moving in different direction with the game-play and when it worked they would refine it and put it into the next game.

One of the fastest growing themes in video games today is music. I don't mean the quality and importance of the soundtrack. I am talking about a game that is centered on the creation or consumption of music. Games like Guitar Hero, Rock Band, and Dance Dance Revolution are games that are made with one concept in mind to meld our love of music with video games. Most games the feature music as a theme gives it to you directly. You hear or play the music as it originally existed; but what does music look like? What would music act like if you attacked a monster with it? What would a world look like if it were created out of music? That is the question that Eternal Sonata will answer. In this game you live inside the music not just listening to it.
