What is it about movies, novels, comics, music, and video games that captivate so many of us? We spend so much time watching read and listening to
all these forms of entertainment but what makes them entertaining. Sitting in a chair pressing buttons is not generally considered fun yet we can do
it for hours and hours on end. There must be something more to it like the story; however not just any story will do. I don't want to see a boring
recap of some shmoe's life I want drama, action, tribulation that is what is exciting. An interesting story will take you new places and let you
experience new things, usually things you never could in the real world. One of these new and interesting things to experience is criminal activity.
Most of us are law abiding people and we would never follow through with robbing a bank. However there are those that are weak minded and maybe
influenced on what they see in a game. Does that mean that we should not experience the intensity in doing that in a game? Does anything that society
rules taboo get removed from movies, comics, and video games? The problem with that is those unstable people are the very small minority and their
illness should be addressed and not this ostrich with its head in the ground mentality. They are just as likely to be set off my anything and when we
place blame on something that is not the catalyst these people are free to roam the streets with out getting the help they need.
Why do I bring all this up? Well Saints Row is exceedingly violent even more so then Grand Theft Auto. With a solid mature rating this game earned
ever bit of it. So be careful with however plays this game as this game has all seven deadly sins and a few more. Saints Row is what they call a
sand-box game. You can go anywhere you want and you choose when and what missions you go on. This game style was pioneered by Grand Theft Auto and so
many other games try to capture the free roaming experience of it. It's almost impossible to write a review of saints row with out talking about
Grand Theft Auto due to the similarities. With the Grand Theft Auto games so loved by gamers will they warm up to Saints Row?
