Just so I don't seem like a complete push over lets get the bad stuff out of the way. I
have to say I was as equally excited to see to ending of the story as I was to play the multiplayer combat. The story starts out very strong and about halfway through seems to fall
apart. The last three missions feel like a quick summery of events rather then you experiencing them. Its like at the end of a movie, and everything is solved in the last ten
minutes but there is no satisfaction because it was to fast. The campaign is only about fifteen hours long, that is okay if it only takes that long to tell the story but if it
feels rushed its like you got short changed.
I also was looking forward to the game feature that records you playing the whole level and then lets you watch it as you zoom in and out and movie the camera where ever you would
like. I applaud Bungie for putting this in and it's hard to find fault in something that is so cool and that no one else is doing. However you can tell this is the first time that
this kind of thing has ever been done. It takes forever to load the videos and the playback controls are a little rough around the edges. This is still a very cool feature and I
hope other companies look into doing something like this. This kind of add-on is only going to get better and user-friendlier the more games it comes with.
Now that that is all done I can continue gushing about Halo 3. I loved almost every minute of Halo 3 save for a few small complaints; its one of the highpoint of the year for me.
Even if you spend the $60 just for the multiplayer side of the game you will not be disappointed. If you think of the campaign as an extra and the online elements as the meat of
the game you will love Halo 3. However if your only reason for buying the game is the story's ending you're going to be upset. I know that Halo's success is guarantied. Everyone I
have talked to that has played multiplayer has said that it is better and more fun the Halo 2. With the tons of added content, highly addictive gameplay, and with the hundreds of
thousands of players online right now you're sure to have lots of people to shoot at for a long time.
