Halo 3 has a music score that could compete against any movie out there. The music is moving and inspiring and adds so many layers to the action and story on screen that it's hard to imagine Halo with out it. Can you remember when a theme song to a video game was ever so widely recognized? Even my wife who is not a gamer knew right of the bat that it was a ad for Halo that was on the television with out even looking up. Every part of Halo 3 was handled with loving care this is evident in the quality of music and its sound effects. Every gun, ship, voice, and explosion sounds authentic and real, like it was just recorded and not created in some studio somewhere.

After the multiplayer beta everyone was sure that the graphics would be no better then Halo 2. Well its hard not to be jaded in the modern gaming world were every game that comes out is expected to look better and better then the last. The graphics in Halo 3 although amazing are not going to set a new bar in the field of visuals. Halo 3 is on par with almost every other major release this year though. Is this a bad thing? Some of you will think so, but I don't. Many times throughout the game I sat slack jawed in awe at what I was seeing, but I had trouble deciding whether it was from the outstanding level of visual effects or was it because of the content of what was going on. Like the first time I saw a Scorpion, a giant walking fortress, explode. Was it the fact that I just took that thing down or the bright flash and tiny pieces going everywhere that made me recoil in glee? What ever it was no one could argue that Halo 3 is not a sweet chunk of eye candy. Multiplayer graphics were tweaked a little to keep the frame rate up; less shadows, no soft lighting, and little smoke effects, but the action is so fast you will not get a chance to slow down and see the scenery.
