There are only a few games in history that have as much background story as Elder Scrolls. After volumes and volumes of text that's produced for every game, there is no shortage of material. Bethesda started in 1994 with Elder Scrolls I: Arena, followed by Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall in 1998. These games set a high standard and expectations from gamers soared. It would take four more years before Elder Scrolls III: Marrowind hit the shelves, to high scores with critics and gamers alike, many still say this is the best Elder Scrolls in the series.
The latest game in the sage is Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. It's the pinnacle of what Bethesda has done on the PC and Xbox 360 so far. Oblivion gives the player tons of options to choose from in every category of this go-anywhere-do-anything game. They are also introducing a new NPC system called Radiant AI that was made to breathe life into the other characters in the game. The new AI should make the response of the NPC to conversations and in-game activities more like real person. It's also one of the first games that show off the true power of the 360. With life like foliage, dynamic shadowing, and highly detailed non-player characters, it is the first time we'll see what next generation RPGs are all about.
