If I lived in the age of duels then I would certainly walk up to each and every one of the programmers who worked on Baja - Edge of Control, I would slap them across the face with a glove and challenge them to a duel and after I would win it would be the closest thing that I would get to justice.
There are good racing games and there are bad racing games; there are great racing games and there are terrible racing games. Baja - Edge of Control is probably falls in the beyond terrible range. And it is not that the game has terrible sound or graphics because that's not the case. It is not because it lacks content because this game is full of it. It is because the gameplay and the controls are so terrible that this game is for the most part unplayable. If you actually can claim that this is a good racing game then you must truly be a very gifted racer or just a great liar.
After about five hours of racing and not getting anywhere I decided to call it quits when I started having an almost uncontrollable desire to chunk my Xbox 360 at the nearest wall and smash it in a thousand pieces. It is a great shame that THQ released a game with so much content, great graphics and decent sound but put absolutely no time in the game's gameplay and controls. Personally, I don't even think that this game is worth a rent, but if you have your heart set on it, do yourself a favor and rent it first because unless you are rich you are going to feel offended and ripped off. There was absolutely no joy or fun to this game because of the controls and if it wasn't for the format and the categories that I have to follow when I give the numerical score for the game, I would give this game a 0 without any hesitation. The programmers could not even get basic math right. For example I completed one race out of five and the game claimed that I was 25% done with the tournament. THQ not only embarrassed themselves and the racing genre but also insulted everyone that bought this game. If I could sue for wasted time I would take THQ to court in a heartbeat.
