If looking at this game did not convince you that this game was made for kids then the gameplay and controls of Madagascar - Escape 2 Africa will surely convince you of it.

First of all, I want to comment on the simplicity of the controls. The left stick takes care of character movement while the left analog stick controls the camera. Button A is the game's most popular button although from time to time button X is also used and on some very rare occasions you may find yourself in trouble if you don't know the location of button B and button Y.

Another strong indicator why kids would love playing this game is the lack of penalty for failing a mission or in case of death. Also, while in most games you find yourself having to complete missions and tasks under the presence of a timer, white there is a timer in some of Madagascar's missions, most of the time the timer is irrelevant since you have plenty of time to complete your tasks. Once again, adults will not be challenged by this game's timer whereas many youngsters playing it will.

While your kids you love playing through the storyline part of the game, as most stories go, this one too, will end sooner or later. If you're an adult and you play through the game you can easily finish the game within 6 to 10 hours depending on your ability to stay focused to a kid's game. A kid on the other hand can probably spend over 25 hours playing and exploring all the features found in Madagascar - Escape 2 Africa. Most of the extra quests that can be completed in storyline mode can also be played in arcade mode. Arcade mode offers 10 "bonus games" although most of them are really not a bonus game considering that they were part of the storyline. I guess the bonus part is that you can go strait to your favorite activity without having to restart a particular level. Some of the bonus games are more entertaining then others. For golf lovers there's a mini-golf game that can be played in up to 4 actual players. Soccer lovers can take their sport out on the field where they can pick their favorite Madagascar character and match them up in a soccer game. There's even a memory game for brain lovers. In the memory game you compete against a monkey and at first the monkey is really stupid but as you go up levels the monkey gets really aggressive and smart. Kids will love playing these mini games against their friends and drunk adults might enjoy them as well.
