While most people will agree that the sound in Madagascar - Escape 2 Africa is pretty good, depending on your personality you may consider the graphics in the game great or absolutely terrible.

The graphics will set me up perfectly for the sound review therefore I will discuss the visual aspects of the game first. First of all, I want to mention that Madagascar - Escape 2 Africa is a game made for Kids. That's where your personality kicks in. If you look at this game's graphics from a kid's perspective then you will think that the graphics are great. However, if you try to compare this game's graphics to Fallout 3 or the new Metal Gear game you will find yourself highly disappointed with the graphics in Madagascar - Escape 2 Africa.

As mentioned earlier, this game is made for kids. Most kids love cartoons and this game took advantage of that theory and made the game's graphics extremely cartoonish. Just because the game is made to look like a cartoon it does not mean that it is not done well. Activision did a good job of creating the characters. The characters, although far from being realistic-like, do have a good flow to them. The animations fit the characters really well. While your average adult would get sick of this game after a couple of hours, a kid would be entertained by Madagascar - Escape 2 Africa's graphics for a much, much longer time. And not only do you (or most than likely your kids) get to see all your favorite characters from the movies but you also get to hear them as well.

That's right. All your favorite characters will join you in this great adventure not only with their unique looks but with their unique sounds as well. I have not seen Madagascar 2 and I have only seen parts of Madagascar, but from the little parts that I've seen I'm almost convinced that the voice acting for the video game is done by the same actors that did the voices in the movie. Sadly enough, this game's manual is one of the few manuals that does not have a third of the manual dedicated to credits so it is impossible for me to tell with 100% accuracy if the actors are the same; but I'm 98.3% certain of it. As for the rest of the sound, what most adults would consider redundant and be bored and sick of it in a matter of hours, a kid can go on for days and not notice that the same background music has been on for the last three hours. On a positive note, no one sang the "I want to move it, move it" song yet and I'm over 50% done with the game by now.
