Well, I have good news and bad news. The bad news is that my PSP broke. The good news is that I have a very valid reason to get what some have called the best basketball game up to date: the 2KSports NBA 2K9.
Sooner or later I will get myself a new PSP (especially with all the traveling that I'm about to do this Christmas), but with the NBA playoffs still up for grabs I decided to take advantage of my new Xbox360 and see for myself what NBA 2K9 is all about. By the time this review gets published the statistics that I'm about to mention will almost certainly be inaccurate, but what this year's NBA teams are doing makes me want to play basketball more than ever.
The other day I watched the Dallas Mavericks with a 6 win streak take on the LA Lakers (also with a 6 win streak). The game was absolutely phenomenal but in the end the Lakers were victorious. Also, the Boston Celtics seem (once again) to be the team to beat. As of now they have a 12 win streak record. Can they keep it up? I always find myself rooting for the underdog. I love a good comeback and I love an upset. I always considered myself an NFL fan way before any other sports, but this year basketball has drawn my attention. I'm not going to lie; even though I have not played NBA 2K9 yet I at least booted it up to see if the disk plays. The demo movie file is amazing and I can't wait to take the Mavericks to new heights assuming that Dirk Nowinotgonnaspellitright can do what he's supposed to and keep making them 3 pointers. |
