After playing and reviewing Activision’s last Spiderman game, Spiderman – Friend or Foe I did not hesitate to pick up a copy of their latest Spiderman title, Spiderman – Web of Shadows.
Until very recently I was focusing on PC and PSP reviews only, but my job demanded that I acquire a Xbox360 so I can diversify a bit (poor, poor me). Unfortunately, my copy of Web of Shadows has been for the PSP, so until my Xbox arrived I had to focus on other products since my boss insisted that I do the review for the Xbox system.
I had a blast playing through Spiderman – Friend or Foe, so waiting for the Xbox version of the game thought me real patience. I did not want let a much weaker system like the PSP influence any part of the game. I did however spend some time on the net looking at screenshots, and I have to admit that while Web of Shadows looks like it caters to the younger crowds mainly, it still looks like a game that I will have a hard time putting down. Since I have the game on multiple platforms, I will do some comparisons from the Xbox360 version to the PSP version, but the bulk of the review will focus on the Xbox. While I find Spiderman cool, I’ll admit that the character that I’m looking most forward to is Wolverine. He’s always been my favorite Marvel character, and unless the game’s box art lies, Wolverine will be a major part of the game. “With great power comes great responsibility.” Since I have the power of the Xbox360 behind me I believe it is the appropriate time to create a web of shadows of my own. |
