What's this, a Story in a Super Smash Bros game? This seems weird to me, but if you play the right mode, there is indeed some story, at least a little bit. Don't expect massive depth here like from an RPG.

But depth isn't why we play this game, not at all. That aside, though, let's talk about what story there is. When we start off, a lighthearted duel between Mario and Kirby is taking place in an arena. Zelda and Peach are enjoying the show.

Once the fight ends, however, things turn bad. Peach gets kidnapped, and Mario gets knocked miles away from the fighting. You'll find yourself fighting with mix and match parties from different Nintendo games as you continue through this mode.

Along the way, you'll fight a bunch of baddies consisting of an all star lineup from your childhood. Bowser, Ganondorf, Wario, and many more will get involved in the action. For those of you who remember him, R.O.B. will even be making an appearance, and will be seen quite a bit through the storyline.
