For the most part, LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures has great gameplay and the controls respond great.
In general, this game resembles the traditional RPG style of hack and slash (if you play as Indy is more of whip and punch), with the only difference being
the fact that the characters do not go up in levels.
Yes, there are lots of bad Legos running around trying to hurt Indy and the people he loves and those Legos need be disposed of, however, a lot to this game
revolves around solving puzzles. Some of these puzzles are rather easy, for example, pressing a switch. On the other hand, others are a bit more complex,
and sometimes it requires using multiple characters to complete one objective (that's right; Indy does not travel alone in this one).
The way the game is made, most people don't need to read the manual to figure out what to do (although it does help a little). The characters can be moved
with either the D-pad or the analog stick, and the rest of the buttons respond well. Also, button mashing is not a necessity, since the game responds
great. If I have to point out at any setbacks, the only one that comes to mind is the fact that the characters sometimes tend to slip, fall and die if you
end up too close to a ledge or cliff. The rest of the game is just way too arcade-like for the slipping effect to be done on purpose; personally I just
thing is bad programming. However, since you have unlimited lives and since your character spawns at the same place where death occurred, you can just try
again. Besides that, I really don't have much to complain about when it comes to this LEGO game.
