Iron Man's gameplay and controls are yet another factor that has me convinced that this game is designed for kids.
If you have never played a shooter on the PSP before, give Iron Man a few minutes adjustment time; it can seem confusing and awkward at first. Once you get
used to the controls, you should be flying in no time; literarily.
Iron man uses the traditional PSP shooter controller scheme, triangle, x, square and circle for camera movement, right trigger to shoot, analog stick for
movement and the up, down, left and right buttons for weapon select and energy distribution to iron man suit components. The left trigger controls your
thrusters (which is basically your flying ability).
I hate to say it, but that's it folks. Iron man is about as simple as it gets. There are no button combinations that unleash special moves, no wild
surprises, absolutely nothing out of the ordinary. This game was made for the kids who do not leave their parents alone about Iron Man. With this game,
they get all the Iron Man they can possibly want. The only combo (if you can even call it a combo) is double tapping the left trigger in order to go
between hover mode and jet mode on your flight. As far as I'm concerned, the game handles well, with the only drawback being the fact that you cannot remap
the controllers to different keys (you're stuck on default).
