When it comes to the gameplay and the controls, Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 leaves a lot to be desired.
First of all there are way, way, way too many button combinations in this game. When I researched this game a bit, I found out that for the most part the
PSP version of the game is a direct port of the PS2 version.
I understand that time is money and porting a game from one system to another saves time and money, but direct ports do not work on games that are lacking
so many buttons such as the PSP. Not only are there more button combinations then are necessary, but some of those buttons do not seem to function properly
either.
If you want to learn all the moves that the game offers then have fun making flashcards and good luck finding someone to quiz you on them because that is
exactly what you have to do in order to get good at this game. If you don't want to treat this game as a college class, you can of course lower the
difficulty level. The problem with lowering the difficulty level is that while your players can score and dribble easier, the opponent AI gets extremely
stupid. Even the goalies act retarded no matter what the difficulty level may be. Regardless of the shot, if the shot happens to be anywhere around the
goal, the goalkeeper dives around like a madman. This game is fun to play if you're in an occasional soccer mood, but it gets redundant quicker then most
games.
