While most people play Final Fantasy for the gameplay, the storyline is also an important factor of the game.
Just like most other Final Fantasy games, the storyline is rather simple. The entire Final Fantasy series has been intended for teens and lovers of role-playing
games. The story in Final Fantasy Tactics - The War of the Lions has the same basic struggle between the forces of good and the forces of evil.
The story starts out faster then in most of the other Final Fantasies. The opening sequence deals with the kidnapping of the princess. To make matters worse,
it happened on your watch. But then again, who didn't see this coming? You're an apprentice knight trusted with the princess' safety. I guess because of your
inexperience in the combat arts, your watch made the kidnapping of the princess the ideal time. Luckily for the princess, your sense of loyalty and honor are
just as strong as in the other Final Fantasies and you set out to rescue the princess and set the wrong things right.
Final Fantasy Tactics - The War of the Lions, just like all other Final Fantasies (possibly with the exception of Final Fantasy 9) had beautiful stories that are
not worth revealing and spoiling them during a game review. I do want to share a few more facts about the story. Hopefully, I can present them in a tasteful
fashion where none of the story is actually ruined. First of all, betrayal seems to be a common theme in this game of tactics. Class struggle is another. As a
matter of fact, a good chunk of the game revolves around class struggle. The oppressed, the misfortunate and the poor finally take up arms against their
oppressors, of whom you (the main character) is a member of. You are not like the rest of them. Or are you? YOU have to play in order to find out. I won't
spoil it for you. This is a review not a walkthrough.
