Four band members, four instruments, four starter cities to start out from, and roughly four hundred dollars to your name, you're ready to give it all you got. You're always going to remember your first gig.

Putting your band together is one of the greatest aspects to this game. First, you have to select a band name, hometown and logo. I had some trouble thinking of band names. I did not want to infringe on any copyright material. My first band was named PMS and it was a chick band. They weren't doing bad at all but it really bugged me that my vocalist was a girl and most of the songs were sang by guys so I abandoned PMS and formed a new band, Dirty Squid that had me as lead vocalist. If you can't think of a band name there's always the randomizer to help you out.

San Francisco, Chicago, Dublin or Amsterdam are your starting locations. Depending what city you decide to make your hometown is the part of the world where your start your career from. For example, Dirty Squid started out of Chicago and as I unlocked the van new cities were made available. It wasn't until I acquired the plane that locations on other continents opened up. Basically, if you want to play your early shows in the US don't make your hometown city somewhere in Europe. As for the band logo, you have a choice of 15 different logos at your disposal. And now comes the really fun part: selecting the band members. You band needs four members. You get to completely design each band member. Depending on the band member's sex (either male or female) a choice of clothing and haircuts is made available. Furthermore, the clothing is subdivided into multiple categories such as tops and bottoms. The clothes as well as the haircuts are very wild, possibly controversial, and right up the there to what some of the world's most renown rockers would wear. I was thinking of giving my vocalist (me) the skeleton suit but eventually I decided on the bum look. The more outlandish a haircut or a piece of clothing it is the more it costs so if you truly want to make your band look unique now it is the time to take it on the road. The better you play the more fans and stars you earn and as your numbers increase new locations and new gigs become available. Eventually you can even start hiring people to help out such as promoters or even a spiritual guru. How you make and how you run your band is the band's unique story. Now how to play the music, that's the same for every band and you can find out about it under 'Gameplay and Controls' section of the review.
