Do y'all know why I gave myself a new PSP as a Christmas gift to myself this year? For two reasons. The first reason is that as a game reviewer it is my responsibility to tackle as many games on as many systems as possible. The second reason was that I did quite a bit of traveling for the holidays and the PSP is a great traveling system that entertains with the ability to not only play games but watch movies as well.

This review is not about the PSP though. However, this review is about a PSP game; to be even more precise it is about Rockstar's latest racing game, Midnight Club - L.A. Remix. The last two racing titles to hit the PSP have been Midnight Club - L.A. Remix and EA's Need for Speed Underground but the question is which one of those two games has what it takes to take the flag at the finish line. I started my racing career (video game wise) with the very first of the Need for Speed games but over the years the series has gone completely downhill so I'm looking with great enthusiasm at what Rockstar has created. Will I jump ship and turn my back on EA's racing titles while embracing Midnight Club - L.A. Remix or will I stick with the legend that is Need for Speed? There is another possibility; maybe both games are terrible and maybe I'll reinstall an old Colin McRae rally game. I don't know yet. But for now, lets find out together if Midnight Club - L.A. Remix is a real racing game or just a waste of time.
