Depending of how you feel about Darth Vader the beginning of Star Wars – The Force Unleashed will either create excitement or boredom for your. While some people might consider this a spoiler, in my opinion it is so insignificant that I will mention it anyway.

While Vader is a major part of the story the main character (you) are Vader’s new apprentice. Vader kills your dad and takes you as his pupil (not because he has a heart and he likes you, but because he’s aware that him alone can not defeat the Emperor. Vader didn’t grow a conscience overnight; he does not want to defeat the forces of evil. Vader just got tired of being 2nd in command and in a dictatorship, when you’re second, the only way to move up is with a good fashion assassination.

Vader is old and wise and he knows that an untrained youngster is not powerful enough to aid him against the Emperor so Vader starts sending you on suicidal missions in order for you to prove yourself. Your travels take you across the galaxy far, far away, and in your travels you will encounter and fight all kind of enemies from evil robots to mind-controlled giant monsters to other Jedi. Stormtroopers and rebel forces are both a target; Vader can not afford to let the Emperor hear about his new apprentice therefore all of your missions fall in the “everyone must die” category. Trust, love, hate, friendship, betrayal, and mastering the force are things that you have to deal with, but on the bright side, in this Star Wars game you can change your clothes so you can at least be fashionable for any event; and by event I mean murderous fight.
