I’m not the biggest fan of golf as a sport; I think it is just a bit too slow for me, but I am extremely excited about reviewing Tiger Woods Golf 09.
The reason behind it is the fact that this game has just a bit more of a storyline than much of the other sporting games. When I look at golf I think of an individual sport, and although in this game you don’t actually interact with other golfers, the game does take your character to new heights.
Your story starts in January; you finally got your big shot. You get to play some pro golf. But who are you, and how good are you? That is actually entirely up to you. Take your created character to new heights in the PGA tour mode. Purchase new gear and equip your star with the latest in golfing technology, earn experience and level up; kind-of. While you don’t really level up as one might expect from an RPG standpoint, as you gain experience you can spend earned points on developing your golf star (such as adding points to driving, putting, as well as several other abilities). Distribute your points wisely, keep playing well, and a new world will open up in Tiger’s latest game. You are the star; you create your own image, your own glory, your own story.
