Stepping into Age of Conan is to step into the fantasy world of Hyboria created by Robert E. Howard. This means that the world that you have entered is much grittier than the more popular MMOs in the genre, although I feel this is for the best.

Your personal story within the game will be set by you, and will depend upon which class you choose. All adventurers will be attempting to escape Tortage early in the game, but the path out is different for the different types of characters.

Just know that this will be a very adult focused world. While other MMOs try to market to all ages, Age of Conan focuses directly on the adults. Step into a world set in a semi-historic world of Hyboria, start as a slave, create your own destiny and rule an empire. Alternately, you can be just another face in the army, cannon fodder for the next battle. In Age of Conan, the choice is entirely yours.
