When the history of gaming is finally written, there will be an entire volume dedicated to World War II games, with titles such as Call of Duty 2 and Company of Heroes
standing out above many competitors. World in Conflict however, will be lost between pages of other mediocre games. The problem I have with WiC is not that it's a particularly bad
game. It just seems like it isn't what Massive promised, which was an immersive, destructive strategy game. Not an immersive, destructive "take orders from your computer" game.
Massive Entertainment believes their twist on the story is what sets their game apart, but that isn't enough to make their game stand above the rest.
