The gameplay is just like that of almost any third person shooter, though far better than pieces of trash like Made Man. The controls handle alright, though I don’t like too much how the guns aim, nor do I like how the ability to hug walls works.

The guns themselves seem to fire a bit higher and have more recoil than is needed and than most gamers will be used to. The gun kicks more than most “realistic” shooters do, and can cause you to miss quite a few shots. This only gets worse as you get better weaponry, such as machine guns and the like.

Probably one of my least favorite ‘features’ is something that you find yourself doing far too often, and that is stealing souls. It is very obvious this was intended to be a cool thing you could do with your demonic powers. Unfortunately, you are forced to do it all too often. The enemies in this game don’t drop ammo like normal enemies; you actually have to take it off of them using the soul suck. This can make looting a room of ammo after a gunfight seen very tedious, and also very time consuming.

The teleportation power is the first real demonic power you are given, aside from the crappy soul suck, and it is decently cool. If you can target an area, you can teleport yourself there for a few moments, useful for flipping a switch to turn off a security measure here and there. Your time is limited, and then you are automatically sucked back to where you came from.

Even though I love shooters, I kept finding myself pretty much convincing myself to even go into the next room, repetitiveness made it so boring. Same thing over and over, walk in a room, kill a few monks, spend a month or two looting bodies, then doing it all again. This gets boring way too fast, and the storyline doesn’t happen quick enough to give the player the desire to move on further.

The level design is pretty horrid as well. You’ll find yourself running around a single room for quite a while in an attempt to progress, only to later find out the lighting around the door is so poor that you can barely make it out. This doesn’t help when the storyline is crawling along and you have to slowly loot every body to hope to have enough ammo to continue.
