Silent Hunter – Wolves of the Pacific is a great game if you are a fan of naval simulators or someone who is way-into WWII. If you’re bored of your current video game collection and are looking for something new to try, especially a slow moving simulator, look no further; Silent Hunter – Wolves of the Pacific is a great catch.
However, if you’re not into slow, time-consuming naval simulators, Wolves of the Pacific is not a game for you. The initial beautifully rendered ocean waters can get redundant rather quickly, and all of the sudden you catch yourself making excuses for the game in order to justify a fifty dollar purchase.
If submarines is your passion, you’d be a full to overlook this great title, but at the same time, if naval warfare is not at the top of your list, you’ll hate yourself for making this purchase because this game can get boring extremely, extremely fast. The redundancy of the game is also noted in the sense that after a while everything looks the same (you looking through a periscope trying to sink another boat).
Overall, I’d compare Silent Hunter – Wolves of the Pacific to one of those great movies that you know is great but at the same time can only watch once in a while. Same goes for this game; it’s great but at the same time, I can only take it in small doses. On another note, the easiest place to actually find the game is to order it online. For some reasons it seems that a lot of retailers don’t carry it or it’s out of stock.
