Real
Time Strategy games have evolved over the last 11 years since the release of
games like Warcraft and Command and Conquer. The early games were 2D, with limited
graphics capabilities fitting the computers of that era. Today, games like Act
of War and Command and Conquer Generals have moved the RTS game into the 3D
world, with beautiful graphics and destructible terrain that is lights years
ahead of where it all started.
Microsoft is best known for their Operating System, The Windows OS. In the
recent past, Microsoft has released games as well. Halo, Age of Empires, Dungeon
Siege and other games have made Microsoft a force to be reckoned with in making
games. The first Age of Empires game was released in 1997. It was one of the
first RTS games to use 3D to represent objects, characters, and buildings. Today,
I’m reviewing the latest version of Age of Empires, Age of Empires 3.
